Dr Elisabeth Betz

RMIT University | Post-Doctoral Researcher

Dr Elisabeth Betz is an anthropologist with a background in youth studies whose research focuses on how young people identify in times of social change.

After completing a PhD in anthropology on how Tongan young people use hip-hop and popular culture to negotiate identity, Elisabeth worked at the Youth Research Centre at the University of Melbourne. There she performed research into how young people access educational programmes, and taught in Anthropology and Youth Studies, Youth and Popular Culture and Qualitative Methods. She has also taught in Anthropology at La Trobe University.
